Engine Type
The JEEP® WRANGLER UNLIMITED (TJ) is available with the same engine options as the standard JEEP® WRANGLER (TJ). The first option is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 120 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque. The second option is a 4.0-liter inline-six engine that produces 190 horsepower and 235 lb-ft of torque.
Transmission Type
The JEEP® WRANGLER UNLIMITED (TJ) is available with the same transmission options as the standard JEEP® WRANGLER (TJ). The first option is a five-speed manual transmission that is standard on all models. The second option is a four-speed automatic transmission that is available as an option on all models.
Transfer Case
The JEEP® WRANGLER UNLIMITED (TJ) is equipped with the same part-time four-wheel-drive system as the standard JEEP® WRANGLER (TJ). It features a transfer case that allows the driver to select between two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive high, and four-wheel drive low.
Front Axle
The JEEP® WRANGLER UNLIMITED (TJ) is equipped with the same solid front axle as the standard JEEP® WRANGLER (TJ). It features a Dana 30 axle with a 3.07 gear ratio as standard equipment. An optional Dana 44 axle with a 3.73 gear ratio is also available.
Rear Axle
The JEEP® WRANGLER UNLIMITED (TJ) is equipped with the same solid rear axle as the standard JEEP® WRANGLER (TJ). It features a Dana 35 axle with a 3.07 gear ratio as standard equipment. An optional Dana 44 axle with a 3.73 gear ratio is also available.
Other Features
Overall, the JEEP® WRANGLER UNLIMITED (TJ) offers the same off-road capabilities as the standard JEEP® WRANGLER (TJ) but with the added benefit of more space for passengers and cargo.
